Fashion and leather goods company based in Milan. Brothers Mario and Martino Prada founded the company in 1913. Their granddaughter Miuccia Prada helped the company grow to greatness with her creativity.
Prada is one of the most famous and luxurious fashion houses in the world.

A luxury shop opened in the same year in the elegant Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II. Prada was appointed Royal Purveyor to the Court by Victor Emmanuel III.
Miuccia Prada helped the company grow to gigantic proportions with her creative use of different fabrics, modern lines.
It was she who redefined the traditional company, terms like desirability, luxury -making the brand a cult.
From a nylon material, the model "The Vela" was born. A backpack designed by her in 1984. At that time, it was available in brown and black. Made of water-repellent nylon called Pocone. This fabric is also known for the production of army tents. In 1985, their collection became famous with modern cuts and bright colours. Made of parachute nylon, she designed a handbag that became an instant sales classic.
The model "Vela" had a silver upside-down triangle as its logo and was a real eye-catcher. It became a prestigious object and sold internationally.
The "bad taste" look became famous ten years later and thrilled her audience.
Miuccia Prada is married to Patrizio Bertelli - he is CEO of Prada. She herself is chief designer and chair of the board of directors.
In 1993, Miuccia created the second line Miu Miu (her nickname) for a younger audience. This fashion is unconventional and modern. Since 2007, however, it has only been available for women.
